About FDTN
Fire Department Training Network is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana, delivering realistic fire service training since 1996. We operate the National Fireground Training Academy and publish FIRE TRAINING.
Prices and currency
All prices are shown and charged in United States dollars. Prices are subject to change, but the price shown at the time you complete your order is the price that applies to it.
FIRE DEPT TRAINING NET will appear on your credit card or bank statement.
Member and non-member rates
Courses and materials are offered at a member rate and a non-member rate. You select the rate that applies to you at checkout. FDTN verifies membership against its records. If the member rate is selected and membership cannot be verified, the order will not be processed. We will contact you to either complete a membership or collect the difference, and the registration is confirmed only once that is settled.
Registration and seats
Seats in every course are limited and are allocated in the order that completed registrations are received. Your registration is confirmed by email. A seat is not held until your registration is confirmed by FDTN.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of registration. A seat is not held until your registration is confirmed by FDTN.
Department purchase orders and invoices
Departments may register against a purchase order. Invoice terms are net 30 days. The seat is held when the registration is submitted and the invoice is issued to the department.
Seats are limited and in high demand. A registration whose invoice is not paid within 30 days will be dropped and the seat released to another registrant. FDTN will not hold a seat against an overdue invoice while other departments are waiting for it. Special circumstances must be authorized in advance by FDTN — contact us at
Changes and cancellations by FDTN
FDTN may reschedule or cancel a course because of insufficient enrollment, instructor availability, facility problems or weather. If we cancel a course, you may transfer to another course or receive a full refund of the amount you paid. FDTN is not responsible for travel or lodging costs.
Participant requirements and conduct
Live-fire and hands-on training is physically demanding and carries inherent risk. By registering you confirm that:
- You meet any prerequisites stated for the course.
- You will bring and wear full structural firefighting protective clothing and SCBA where the course requires it.
- You are medically fit, and cleared by your department, to participate in strenuous activity.
- You will follow the direction of FDTN instructors and all site safety rules at all times.
FDTN may remove any participant from training for unsafe conduct, for failing to meet prerequisites, or for arriving without required equipment. No refund is given in those circumstances.
All participants sign a waiver and release at the training site before taking part in any hands-on or live-fire evolution.
Photography and video
FDTN photographs and films at its training events. By attending, you grant FDTN permission to use images and video in which you appear in its training materials, website, newsletter, catalog and social media, without further notice or payment. If you would prefer not to appear, tell an FDTN instructor at check-in and we will accommodate you.
Copyright and use of materials
FireNotes, Training Drills, DVDs, course handouts and FIRE TRAINING are the copyrighted property of Fire Department Training Network. They are sold for the use of the individual purchaser or the purchasing department. Reproducing, duplicating, posting or redistributing them — in print, electronically, or on any internal or public network — is not permitted without written permission from FDTN. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FDTN's liability arising out of any registration or purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. FDTN is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including travel and lodging costs.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana.
